If received this notice from the IRS you don't have to worry but you do need to respond.
If you have received this notice it means the IRS is claiming that you did not pay all the taxes that you were liable for based on income reported to the IRS.
This could be a small amount or the amount could be big and it could also include interest in penalties.
It can simply be an oversight.
However this is why it's important to report all income to the IRS because if you earned income and didn't pay taxes on it and you knowingly withheld this information it's considered tax evasion.😲
If you disagree you will need to notify the IRS that you disagree but you have to have supporting documentation.
If you agree but you can't pay that total amount that is due you should still contact the IRS and attempt to make a payment plan.
If you are unclear and need more information you should still should contact the IRS and let them know that you are unclear as to what needs to be done.
If you need help with this type of tax situation please feel free to contact us we are more than happy to assist.
